2枚壁のファサード

大阪弁の「うち（家）や！」の響きで多くの人に親しまれているたまごタルト屋「ウチヤベイクショップ」。

３号店となる今回は、他の店舗と同じく「都会の田舎」をキーワードに、大阪市内でありながら古い街並みが残る谷町６丁目で、長堀通りを挟んだ向かいには新しいマンションが立ち並ぶ、幅広い世代が住み訪れる場所への出店となりました。

ビルの片隅階段下にある奥行き1m間口5m、1坪半の小さなスペースであることを生かして、店外だけでなく店内までをもファサードとして捉え、２枚の大きな壁のあるファサード店として作ることを考えました。

１枚目の壁は木に住む動物たちのおウチをイメージとして木の幹を模したガラスにいっぱいの扉を取り付け、木の中に入っていくような気持ちにさせることで、店内への期待感を醸し出し、ワクワクしながら気軽に入ってきていただけるようにしました。

２枚目の壁は木の中に広がる動物たちのおウチをイメージとして菱形模様を塗装した木板にいっぱいの窓を取り付け、窓から見た外の世界を覗かせることで、店内の開放感を醸し出し、ときめながらゆっくりと過ごしてもらえるようにしました。

２枚の壁と壁との間のとても薄い店内を、ガラス窓や半透明写真プリント、アートペイントなどのいろいろな透明度のある要素を重ね合わせることで奥行き感を持たせ、立体絵本の中に飛び込んだような不思議な体験を演出しました。

薄くて小さなお店は、街の玄関口として、街の灯しとして、谷町６丁目の街へととけ込むことを目指しました。

Two facade walls

“UCHIYA BAKE SHOP”, a bake shop famous for its popular egg tarts, whose name is beloved with its friendly Osaka dialect for “Uchiya! – My home!”

The third shop is now opened at 6-chome Tanimachi with nostalgic streets left even in the middle of Osaka city under the keyword of “Inaka in Tokai”, which means “country in metropolitan” as same as the other our shops. The location has a good access and residents in broad generations with newly built condominiums across the Nagahori-Dori street.

Taking advantage of its being compact space with 1 m of depth, 5 m of width and 5 m2 area nicely located underneath the corner of building, we decided to design it as a facade shop with two large walls by viewing not only exterior, but also interior as a facade structure.

The first wall has a door as wide as the entire area on the glass imitating a tree trunk as a image of a home for animal nesting in the tree. You can feel easy to enter the door with exciting feel as if you are entering a tree, creating an expectation to the shop.

The second wall has a window as broad as a wood board painted with diamond patterns imaging homes of animals spreading inside the tree. I would like you to spend easy but throbbing time with opened atmosphere inside the shop by peeking outside world from the window.

The shop has a sense of depth by superimposing various transparent elements such as glass windows, translucent photograph prints and art paint in this very narrow interior of the shop between walls. You can enjoy mysterious experience as if you have jumped into a 3-D picture story book with this arrangement.

We hope this thin and cozy shop to blend onto the street of 6-chome Tanimachi as a gate to the town, and as a light of the town.
